STS-133

Farewell Discovery Farewell Discovery - STS-133 Shot from the KSC Press Site - I was fortunate to get a Press Pass for the final 3 shuttle launches. It was a lot of fun being part of all the activities and special media events. The launch was a nail biter, coming within several seconds of a scrub because of a down range computer problme. During the normal 9 minute hold this problem identified. NASA directors gave them 5 minutes to fix the problem during a non-standard 5 minute hold....we got within seconds of the 5 minute delay before the clock started again! Very cool!
